Our poultry barns are opened early each morning allowing all to roam and graze freely throughout the day, and then closed in the evening after the hens have roosted to protect them from predators. You will notice that the yolks of our eggs will be darker in color (sometimes almost a complete orange, depending on the season) and stand taller than any store bought egg because of the freshness of the egg and the diet of the hen. The true test is their flavor, you must try them for yourself. Grass fed chicken and eggs are much higher in Omega 3's and much lower in Omega 6's than commercially raised poultry and eggs, or in other words they are much better for you and your family. In addition to forage, all of our poultry feed is Non-Medicated and Chemical Free..

They are a small local hatching operation specializing in pasture raised poultry. We raise the chicks from just one day old ourselves here on the farm. The birds are floor raised, not caged or put on wire mesh. They are provided with plenty of sheltered space as well as access to the outdoors. These simple farming practices have made medicated feed and debeaking practices unneccesary for us thus far on the farm. The NEPPA chicks we raised from early last fall are now laying strong and providing a steady supply of good large eggs. They also seem to be very strong foragers compared to other hens we have had in the past.
